Our merchandise service

This probably the most important page on the website as it explains how our site and service operates, it will save time and hassle for all concerned if you could spend the few minutes reading the service details below.

Firstly thanks for visiting, you have probably arrived at our site via a search engine search for merchandise from a artist/band. To kick off we do not operate like Amazon, Amazon holds a vast amount of stock that is readily available, off the shelf and ready to ship the next day.

We operate differently from other merchandise website's in that we operate by showcasing official merchandise releases from several countries including the UK, US, Germany and the Netherlands we then offer them for sale these items under one retail outlet.

Artists, and record labels have in place license restrictions to restrict what can be released in each country, they also make a decsion on where merchandise will be made available. For instance "Bright Eyes" whom are a US based band fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst wont have UK or German releases as the demand for merchandise in those countries is simply not as much as it is in the US.

This means that if you are located in the UK and you want a Bright Eyes t-shirt then your out of luck, as a decsion was made somewhere between the Artist, the Record Label and manufacturers that they were not going to finance merchandise for the UK market.

If you do track down the merchandise in the US you will be hit with shipping costs comparable with the cost of the t-shirt, then in some cases you can be hit again with customs and other charges when the package arrives in the UK. The same works in reverse a US customer looking for "Artic Monkeys" merchandise probably wont find any in the States so they will have to purchase from the UK, again shipping and taxes become a factor.

Now a band like Green Day will be different, a very well known band across all countries so merchandise is released in most countries, however still no where near as much as whats is released in the US their core market..

This is where our website comes into the equation, we gather all the releases from all the countries and this is what you see as available on the site, to be able to offer the amount of merchandise on the site we have to ship from up to 4 different countries to customers all over the world. Many items are "Imports" and this is where logistics start to play a part.

Each product page displays a "Source" flag on the page, this denotes where the merchandise is based, so if you are again based in the UK and the product you want is from a US supplier we order it and ship it from the US, we cannot hold stock in the UK as there are license restrictions to stop license holders flooding international markets with their merchandise, it may be a case that a license to distribute in that country already exists for another company.

So now you have a general idea of how the service works, theres a lot of merchandise all available for purchase but the logistics involved in getting that merchandise to the customer has a number of downsides.

Firstly working with over 50 suppliers available stock has a habit of changing on a daily even hourly basis. We update the site in real time, once we get notification from a supplier that a product is no longer available we switch off the product so its no longer available to purchase.

They also send out new products lists which we add on a weekly basis. In some cases a discontinued product may have been ordered quite recently and therefore customers who have this discontinued product outstanding are contacted and refunded for the item or an alternate offered.

This makes up a small percentage of orders placed on our site..

Suppliers do not always tell us that a product is out of stock, they are simply awaiting reprints, its in their best interest to keep these products "Available", this is known as "Backordered" i.e. the product is still in circulation but stock is being prepared/printed.

However this will increase the delivery time as expected, we will therefore in most cases offer a refund or an alternate item, however with your permission we will continue to source the product you ordered either until its been shipped or an agreed timeframe has past.

We list over 17,000 products on the site, removing many daily, in 80% of cases items are shipped within a 2 week period after ordering.

But due to the fact that suppliers do not always tell us products are no longer in print or on backorder sometimes orders can sometimes exceed our 20 working day delivery schedule, however this is a small percentage.

Again we will contact you with some options but in most cases if a product has been ordered but not shipped within 50 days the item is removed from the site and customers affected are refunded.

Unfortunately email is not the most reliable form of contact, we have had some very irate customers in the past complaining that we do not answer emails when we do in fact respond to hundreds of emails weekly.

Upon further examination customers have always found correspondence in their junk folders.

This unfortunately cannot be avoided however we are in the process of setting up a dedicated area on the site to allow customers to talk directly with customer services.

So to wrap up, if you need a official t-shirt for a gig at the end of the week, or a present that you need tomorrow for your best pal be aware of the logistics involved, we do ship popular items from stock but its all about where that stock is based.

Our return customers understand the delay and expect to wait for their purchase knowing that they will be getting a product that very few people will know exists in their country.

Not a lot of customers will read this as in this digital age, point and click is the norm, we only pause to enter details without really reading up how websites operate. We hope that this explains clearly how the site operates, we have been online since 2002 and in that time shipped well over 100,000 items.

The service is always improving but at least now after reading this you can see that we just do not sell a product, we provide a complicated import service not a simply off the shelf affair..
